The Diagnostix™ 5440 3.5V Coax Ophthalmoscope Head is a precision-engineered diagnostic instrument designed for comprehensive examination of the eye. Built for demanding clinical environments, this ophthalmoscope combines advanced optical performance, ergonomic design, and long-term reliability.
A high-performance aspherical condenser lens minimizes corneal reflection, while further reduction is achieved through the use of distinct parallel observational and illuminating light beams, based on Gullstrand’s principal. This coaxial design delivers a clear, evenly illuminated view of the fundus with exceptional contrast and detail.
The ergonomic housing features an integral thumb rest, improving stability and enabling one-finger control of all functions. A synthetic rubber brow rest allows comfortable use with or without practitioner eyeglasses, while the dust-proof design enhances durability in daily clinical use. A magnified, illuminated aperture viewing window ensures quick and accurate aperture selection.
The Diagnostix™ 5440 offers outstanding versatility with 29 viewing lenses ranging from –35 to +40 diopters and 24 aperture/filter combinations, supporting a wide range of diagnostic needs. It features a universal bayonet mount, making it compatible with most 3.5V power supply handles, and includes a standard anti-theft locking feature for shared clinical environments.
Available with xenon or advanced AdLED illumination, this ophthalmoscope delivers true tissue color and consistent performance. It is backed by a five-year warranty on the instrument and a lifetime warranty on the AdLED lamp, making it a dependable choice for hospitals, clinics, ophthalmology practices, and medical education programs.
