Fixed and modular line cards provide high-density Ethernet interfaces for the ASR 1000 platform, offering mixed 1GE, 10GE, 40GE, and 100GE port options. Designed as field-replaceable PCB assemblies with metal carrier plates and EMI shielding, the cards accept SFP/XFP/QSFP transceivers for copper and single- or multimode fiber media. They deliver up to 100 Gbps per modular processor and enable increased Ethernet density with deterministic QoS for Layer 2/3, IPv6, and MPLS deployments. Compatibility and minimum Cisco IOS XE software releases are specified per adapter to ensure MACsec readiness and feature parity with ASR 1000 routing services.
