I recently purchased this pc I5 w/ssd and 8gb ram. Several upgrades later not knowing how refurbished it is I have been stocking replacement parts for it. Plan this to be my list computer I think. I'm retired now have question about the power supply. The original is working fine but I wanted a spare so when I search using factory part number for the original part. A replacement was presented to me. I have bought it and have read comparing both labels on since both are HP parts. My problem or question with my new part is when the time comes to use it. It might be the end of my PC. The only difference I found was on the P2 connector, the wires match in color and position for the four wires on my existing part. The new part has an extra black wire on the P2 connector in the fifth slot/pin. See attached photos.
Is this ok, hope it my be extra ground which can't hurt. But I don't want to plug it in an find it's a power connector. I plug cord into the power supply and to my surprise it didn't fire up as no switch on it. It on the front of case LOL.
Look forward to any ones input. Even if it's how to jumper some pins to make it power up so I can put a meter on that pin to find out what it's doing
Thanks
